A Message from Ms. Claire in Elementary

Hello SWMA families-

I’m not sure why I haven’t added a note in this newsletter till now, I guess I really thought I didn’t have much to add as Catherine’s update is so thorough. But the more I thought about it…..wheels started to spin and my thoughts made it to paper!

As you know I’m in Lower El on Fridays only and I absolutely love it! From carpool drop off, to the students insistent plea to start work, to advancements in sight words, expressive journal stories, their passion for the money drawer work and listening to them read, I’m so fortunate to be part of their day! I feel as if I should be thanking you for allowing me to spend time with them. I remember several of my students when they were in Ms Jessica’s toddler class and I watched them take their first steps and now they are reading to me…such gifts. (or I’m getting old?) Make no mistake each day is great, but Fridays are special and I am received each day with warm smiles and sometimes a surprise hug. Your children are bright, respectful, and work very hard. I see them quickly offer help to other friends and show such care when a friend is sad. As a SWMA parent, past founding board member, and assistant in Lower El I want to congratulate you on your choice of Montessori for your child. It’s a dynamic place to nurture an endless passion for knowledge. See you on Friday!!
